INSEF stands for Indian Science & Engineering Fair, a regional and national science fair organized by the Science Society of India (SSI). The fair provides a platform for students from grades 6–12 to showcase their projects on topics such as energy, engineering, environment, physics, chemistry, biology, maths, behavioural science, and computer engineering and science. INSEF is free and open to all, and local institutions volunteer to host the fair. The fair includes exhibits that are judged by experts in various fields, and a valedictory function presided over by dignitaries. Winners from the regional fair can directly enter the national fair, and the top three projects from the national fair are selected to participate in the International I-SWEEEP Science Fair in the USA.
